Jack fruit Kottu
( Kos Kottu )
Sri Lankans share a universal love for "Koththu", a beloved street food classic. This delightful dish combines flatbread, vegetables, meat or seafood, eggs, and an array of aromatic spices. In this video, I've put a unique twist on this favorite by using jackfruit to replace the traditional flatbread.
In the past, the jackfruit tree was called the "rice tree" because it was a valuable plant that could be used even during times of food shortages. Jackfruit can be eaten raw, cooked, or even when fully ripe. Both the unripe and ripe fruit are edible, making it a versatile food source.
Moreover, jackfruit is rich in nutrients, making it a highly nutritious food. When adding jackfruit to your diet, try preparing it in different ways instead of sticking to just one method. No matter how you eat it, jackfruit is a delicious and nutritious choice.
